Six Degrees Or Less.... Round Two

Howdy Kate! Do you want to play some more in Round Two with me? If so, here's a little mental movie fun for both of us. Just put your answer in the comment box and I'll do mine on paper. (Once yours is posted, I'll put mine up too..... no I didn't figure it out ahead of time.) And IF we decide to move on to round three, keep in mind that the more obscure or under-exposed the actors/actresses are, the more fun it might be. ;-)

Ground rules.......... no googling, no imdbing, no research tools other than the old "noggin."

Today's challenge:

What is the shortest route from Elijah Wood to Jamie Foxx?

a poem for you

I know I have shared this poem in the past... but something you said last night made me think of this one and all day long my mind has been searching for the last few lines of this poem. I couldn't remember the author or the title... just the idea of sleep and air. When it finally came to me, I decided to capture that moment and put it down here.

----------------

Variation On The Word Sleep
By Margaret Atwood

I would like to watch you sleeping,
which may not happen.
I would like to watch you,
sleeping. I would like to sleep
with you, to enter
your sleep as its smooth dark wave
slides over my head

and walk with you through that lucent
wavering forest of bluegreen leaves
with its watery sun & three moons
towards the cave where you must descend,
towards your worst fear

I would like to give you the silver
branch, the small white flower, the one
word that will protect you
from the grief at the center
of your dream, from the grief
at the center I would like to follow
you up the long stairway
again & become
the boat that would row you back
carefully, a flame
in two cupped hands
to where your body lies
beside me, and as you enter
it as easily as breathing in

I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
& that necessary.

Six Degrees or Less.... Round One

Hey Spencer, do you want to play a little game with me? I know how much you've been missing blogging... and how ultrafocused we've been in "other pursuits" lately.... well, here's a little mental movie fun for both of us. I am almost certain to lose terribly. Just put your answer in the comment box and I'll do mine on paper. (Once yours is posted, I'll put mine up too..... no I didn't figure it out ahead of time) And IF we decide to move on to round two, keep in mind you might want to select an actor/actress I might actually know.

Ground rules.......... no googling, no imdbing, no research tools other than the old "noggin."

Today's challenge:

What is the shortest route from Liam Neeson to Steve Martin?
